YPAM Fringe Center presents an exclusive sharing session featuring artists who participated at this year’s BIPAM (www.bipam.org/bipam2025), a biennial international performing arts platform that took place in Bangkok, Thailand between March 12 to 16, 2025.

Under the theme “tip of an iceberg”, a metaphor that represents the visible and seemingly glamorous part of a much larger, hidden reality, BIPAM2025 emphasized the importance of recognizing the substantial, unseen foundations that contribute to the creation of performing arts – artistic processes, time, effort, human relationships, communities, social and political contexts, labor and care. Through various meetings and exchanges, participants were invited to dig into these hidden layers of the vast intricate whole.

In the first half of the session, our staff will give an introduction of BIPAM, followed by a casual roundtable discussion featuring producer Momo Sakamoto (HANCHU-YUEI / LOLO) and artists Minori Sumiyoshiyama + Chikara Fujiwara (orangcosong), and Yuta Hagiwara (Kamome Machine) who participated at BIPAM2025. They will share their perspectives on the current landscape of Southeast Asia’s multifaceted performing arts scene.

In the second half of the session, Mio Ishida, who presented BIPMA2025’s official program RIDDEN in collaboration with Reu Wijaya (Indonesia) , will talk about the work, revealing the behind-the-scenes process of presenting a performance on an international stage.
