“AN ORDINARY DAY” is about “US”, co-directed by Siyao Li and Mingchi Sun. They ventured deeply into Yinchuan City, Ningxia Province in northwest China, working alongside non-professional actors to create this production that narrates the essence of ordinary life.

About the Cancellation of the performance “An Ordinary Day”
It is very sad to announce this but the performance of “An Ordinary Day” by Yao Theatre in Yokohama is cancelled due to the unexpected change of situation. We have to apologize to everybody who were waiting for the day to come.
However, our friendship and cooperation continued for three years didn't diminish by this but rather they might be strengthened even during the discussion to make decision about this. The results of an international cultural exchange are something more than mere stimuli to the creation process. The ‘defences of peace,' as the Constitution of UNESCO proclaims, are constructed in the minds of all the participants involved in the program. Our exchange also can contribute somehow to world peace. It is what we reconfirmed facing the difficulty this time. So, we never stop in this regard. We would like to ask for your understanding and your support for our future plans.

The company has been featured in major festivals such as the China Original Drama Invitational, Wuzhen Theatre Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, and Sibiu International Theatre Festival. It also actively promotes cultural exchange and youth engagement by organizing the Natural Lighting Theatre Festival, bringing in artists and works from China and abroad.
