a singing-music performance ritual by Li Tzumei and Shang Ruofei
The fear we as women and queers have endured for generations lives in our hearts and bodies. It moves us, and it moves with us wherever we go. How do we fill our hearts again after experiences of pain and misogyny? Finding our voice is both a metaphor and a very literal experience, as we are learning to live and tell new stories. Letting go of the familiar, cherishing the intuitive, sensitive, and non-linear path.Writing songs has been a way to record our process, and the vulnerability of transformation that is rarely spoken about. We are composing the songs to give ourselves exactly what we need in different phases of healing.Women's stories and histories are erased from paper, and rather exist in the embodied realm. Our female ancestors have struggled with their own pain and fear, were hurt and handed down their pain to us. We are tracing our fears back to the source beyond the stories, into the realm of the body.In performance we sing these songs, we listen to one another's stories, we weave songs with the audience's voices. In this space of our own voice, let us sing them out as a collective ritual, repeat them until they become a sanctuary for all: healing, safe and powerful.

Artist Information
- 李慈湄 LI TzuMei
An electronic music creator and DJ from Taiwan, she engages deeply with the practices of social, environmental, and gender awareness. Over the years she has cultivated refined skills in sound design, auditory narrative, acoustic theory, and the art of sampling—transforming sound into a language of memory and emotion. In recent years she has also initiated projects related to the me too movement, using electronic sound as a medium of testimony and empowerment. For this occasion, she presents a collaboration with Shang Ruofei, marking an important beginning in her artistic journey: a first attempt to draw closer to her inner voice.
- 商若飛 Shang Ruofei
A somatic practitioner and facilitator of community-oriented workshops and rituals. She is interested in how emotions, the material world and social processes are intertwined. She loved all forms of art creation until she lost her voice in the process of fulfilling others' dreams. In these songs she is reclaiming her voice again. She is a member of collectives for social medicine and mutual aid. Through this project, she is reopening a door for personal and collective healing and practices for feminist futures to meet.
