YPAM Direction, YPAM's official performance program, will relaunch this year as a professional-only series of informal presentations and discussions. YPAM invited three colleagues who have developed innovative artist labs and networking programs across Asia during the 2010s and 2020s to examine this new format and jointly select participating artists. In this symposium, they will share their experiences in the space between conception and production, rich with potential, inquiry and local/regional contexts, and discuss how these experiences inform their vision for the renewed YPAM Direction.

Semantics of the void: work in progress and a reflexion about creative process and transversality in arts

    Presentation C
    15:00 – 16:40

“Semantic of the void” is an experimental project of research on the topic of the void. Exploring transversality of languages and forms, the space of the “void” is the idea of a space-time relating things by giving them sense. It is the truth in the void between the words, between the lines. It is the pause, the interruption, the inaction between two movements, the silence between two words. This space in-between is the power of the invisible; it is active immobility, as the foundation of artistic process. Several videos of the project will be shown during the presentation.
