akuya Takemoto, who participated in the fringe programs of Toyooka Theater Festival, Kyoto Experiment, and Yokohama International Performing Arts Meeting (YPAM) in 2022 and 2023, will be invited to the YPAM Fringe Center and talk about each fringe program from an artist’s perspective!

Why participate in fringe programs? How to participate? How do you spend your time there? What are the differences between them? Based on his actual experiences as a participant, Takuya will give an informal talk about the reality of fringe programs in performing arts events across Japan.

Artists who are considering participation in fringe programs and producers who are interested in the creative environment of festivals are cordially invited to attend!

Guest Speaker: Takuya Takemoto (performance artist)

Takuya Takemoto is a performance artist who creates performances, using minute movements and perceptions, to question what it means for a person to stand in front of another person in the performing arts. He has participated in the fringe programs of YPAM2023, KYOTO EXPERIMENT 2023, Toyooka Theater Festival 2022, and TPAM2019.

He has been working at the YPAM Secretariat (in charge of the fringe program) since 2022, and also manages the YPAM Fringe Center on the first floor of the Secretariat’s office in Hatsune-cho, Yokohama. He is a performer at a theatre unit Office Mountain.
