The first work (2022) of a lecture performance trilogy by the artist who was born and grew up as a third-generation Korean-Japanese in Tokyo and later obtained French nationality. Presentation about a research during the pandemic into Korean dancer Choi Seung-hee (1911–1969) invokes performative questions on the presenter's own linguistic, ethnic, cultural and political identity.

Artist Information

Yuni Hong Charpe

Yuni Hong Charpe is a visual/performance artist. Born in Tokyo, Japan, as a third-generation Zainichi Korean, Yuni moved to France in 2005 and acquired French nationality. Graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts de Paris-Cergy in 2015, Yuni currently splits time between France and Japan. An Asian Cultural Council Fellow and Arts Commission Yokohama Fellow in 2023.
