Landscape Theater is a theater based in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Since April 2024, it has operated a creative hub for performing artists in a vacant tenant space at Fujisawa Meiten Building. Along with an introduction to the works of choreographer Minami Nakayashiki, I would like to reflect together on the potential power dynamics and control inherent in choreography as a form of communication, as well as the ambiguity surrounding the boundaries between care and violence. In recent years, through "non-contact work" utilizing video and the body, I have developed works that explore various forms of interaction, providing an opportunity to reconsider approaches to communication. (*Non-contact work refers to the concept of contact work that does not involve physical touch.)

Boreali is a multimedia experience combining dance, immersive sound, projections, and 360° synchronized lighting to recreate the magic of the northern lights over Sweden's winter landscape. Inspired by yoik music and Korean Suwon soldiers, the performance evokes the energetic yet serene beauty of auroras, with colors like pink, green, and blue filling the Arctic sky during solar activity. Audiences can walk, sit, or lie down, fully immersed in a 360° journey that mirrors the ebb and flow of nature's most captivating display, inviting a sensory exploration of the Aurora Borealis.

The Unsilent Mode trilogy aims to reconstruct the theatrical event for audiences who grew up with digital media. This project utilizes digital connectivity to bring together Gen Z collaborators from multiple locations into a shared physical space with a live audience. This presentation introduces the first volume (having taken place in Japan, Malaysia and the UK this year) and will detail the project's findings, challenges, as well as plans for volumes two and three. At YPAM, we hope to connect with performance makers, spaces, and funders for 2025 and 2026. For more info, visit unsilentmode.com.
